These aren't made in the USA anymore, and it's a little sad

With its beautiful buttons and beautiful made-in-USA embroidered flag on the inside, you'll no longer see these specific vests from Schaefer unless you hunt around on eBay.

Sometimes the pride in craftsmanship is what gets me, not necessarily where something is made; the durability and construction may be the same with the imported vests, but sadly the fine details just don't add up as much.

When it comes to companies with long histories within the USA, however, I do think they should try leaning into USA-made items as much as possible. They are, after all, in a very unique position with their long heritage; if anything, creating a new off-shoot company would keep the prestige of these companies solidified.
